A Glorious Update

Christmas is nearing and I finally had long enough to sit down and make an update. This update is themed around the series Quest for Glory. What have I done exactly? First thing I did was finally added large screenshots to every Quest For Glory game. We are also now hosting high quality downloads of the manuals of every Quest For Glory game. On top of that, I have added downloads of the official hint books for the entire Quest For Glory Series. Go to each respective game pages and enjoy this Sierra goodness.

Roger Wilco in a Graphic Novel?

I've been doing a few things around the site, the major changes are as followed. In the Sierra (Sierra On-Line) section, the Space Quest game pages have lots of goodies added to their sections. We are now hosting all of the game manuals, which you can download directly from our site. I've also added the official Hint Books for not only Space Quest 1, but Space Quest 2, Space Quest 3, Space Quest 4, AND Space Quest 5. Wait, that's not it! Did you know Roger Wilco starred in his own Space Quest Comic Book back in the early ninties? Well if you did not know, and you are a fan, you can now download all three Graphic Novels entitled: The Adventures of Roger Wilco. You can find them on any of the Space Quest game pages for download. If you have fond memories of throwing Roger off a cliff (like me!) then you will want to free up some time, download the Graphic Novels and read through them.

Just a quick one today before I start my work day. I've made some updates to the Rise of the Dragon game page. For those who don't know what this game is, it was developed by Dynamix and published by Sierra On-Line. We are now hosting the manual for this game, and we also added download links to the Official Hint Book, as well as the Rise of the Dragon Graphic Novel. Go download the game and all its extra resources on the Rise of the Dragon game page. If you are really a collector we also have the EGA version of Rise of the Dragon. Enjoy guys. I'm off to upload myself to a day of work.

Mega download change: Sierra and LucasArts

So I've been hard at work making some major changes with the downloads. I recently announced that all small games (games under 30 MB) are now being hosted right on the site, but now I'm announcing that all our larger games which used to be hosted by Rapidshare are now being hosted by Mega Upload. This change happened because of many reasons, the main one being the fact that Mega Upload offers a much better free user experience (no more waiting 80 minutes in-between downloads). This has been changed for every larger game including the likes of Torin's Passage, Willy Beamish CD Version, Afterlife and many more.

A new game has also been brought back to the site, this time in its 2 disc entirety. Go play all the gun-slinging action in the wild west with the game Outlaws. Download now.

Five new questions have been added to our Trivia Challenge. The total number of questions has raised to 70. A great fun trivia game you can play while your going through your work day (I won't tell your boss). You may learn something too!

So now that every download link has been altered in some way in the past week or so, there may be bugs that have cropped up. If you do notice anything out of place, please let us know via our contact form and we'll fix it right up.

Free up some time, browse our site and download some of the greats of the past we love to remember.

Abandonware Change to our Sierra and LucasArts Dow

So I've been finding time to work on agamesroom.com for a change, and I'm definitely feeling good about this update to the Sierra (Sierra On-Line) and Lucasarts (LucasFilm Games) game pages. Every smaller game (game under 30MB) on our game pages are now hosted directly on our server instead of using a third party file hosting service. This includes games like Mixed up Mother Goose, Eco Quest 1, Tie Fighter, and just so much more! For our larger games, change is coming, it is just going to take more time.

I have also added hint book downloads for King's Quest 1, King's Quest 2, King's Quest 3, King's Quest 4, and King's Quest 5. Enjoy your abandonware goodies!

King's Quest Manuals and Hint Books for download,

So it was my Sister's birthday on the weekend and if there is one thing that she likes more than anything, it is the Gabriel Knight series by Sierra (Sierra On-line). Especially Gabriel Knight 2. The 6 CD's of full motion video Sierra adventure gaming was just amazing for its time, but because of its age, it's hard to even play the game on newer operating systems. Luckily our friends over at GOG.com have solved those issues and made it easy once again put on the shoes of our favorite voodoo novelist. So what exactly have I added to the website? I have added an entire game page for Gabriel Knight 2 (By: Sierra). I added a couple reviews, one for a Sierra (Sierra On-Line) game, and one for a LucasArts (LucasFilm) game. I have also gone ahead and changed the links to every Manual to the King's Quest Series. We now host every one. To top that off, today I have added download links to the Hint Books for the games King's Quest 6 and King's Quest 7. Both great Sierra classics. And now my work here is done for the day! I'm going to go now to download some more coffee. I'm free!!

lucasarts manual download change and a little more

So I've been on a slow but steady course towards a few different things with the website. We'll be starting to host more of the content directly on our site. Today I've made a small step towards that goal, as mostly all of our LucasArts game pages now link to manuals that are hosted on our own server. I've also added a few extras in the mix. A Quick Reference Card for X-Wing, the Grail Diary for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and the Book of Patterns for Loom have all been added for download on their respective game pages. I'm going to crawl back into my free abandonware hole and think about some other downloads I can add to the Sierra and Lucasarts sections. Until next time.
